Bergen Katedralskole is believed to have been founded in 1153 and has gone through many changes since then. Presently it is a general studies upper secondary school, owned and administered by Vestland Fylkeskommune (Vestland County Municipality). The school has a strong academic tradition. - Avdeling Kyrre - Programme for General Studies for students presently being treated for psychological illnesses
- International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
- General Studies Programme for adults (Center for Adult Education)
- Introductory course for minority language applicants aged 16-20 with little or no previous knowledge of Norwegian
